10th Meeting of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities

Children's privacy on the Internet and the impact of the enlargement of the Schengen area on the tasks of data protection authorities were among the main topics of the meeting of the Group of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities, which took place from 2 to 4 June 2008 in Kazimierz Dolny.

The participants of the meeting summarised 7 years of activity of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities (CEEDPA) and presented its latest achievements. They also addressed the issue of qualifications, tasks and powers of information security administrators, and adopted documents on future cooperation and participation in the activities of the European Union institutions.

In the other, the meeting participants called for equal treatment of the languages of all EU member states by providing translation into them during the deliberations of data protection institutions.
